Michael Litwack

Michael Litwack 175:

Michael Litwack has had the privilege of serving as chair of the NCCJ and has recently accepted an invitation to serve on the Board of the National Conference for Community and Justice of Metropolitan St. Louis (NCCJSTL).

Michael has also had the honor of serving as campaign chair and then later as president of The Jewish Federation of St. Louis and is currently a member of its Board and Executive Committee. He is also past chair of the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center and continues on its Executive Committee. Michael is a member of the Interfaith Breakfast Dialogue. He co-chairs the African American Jewish Dialogue Group sponsored by the Urban League and the Jewish Community Relations Council.

Michael is a recipient of the Brotherhood Sisterhood Award of NCCJ and with his wife, Leslie, the American Technion Society Albert Einstein Award for Community Service. Michael and Leslie are the proud parents of Matthew and Jason.

What Michael says about NCCJSTL: My involvement with the NCCJSTL stems from a long held belief that "no one is born a bigot," and an organization such as the NCCJSTL has one of the best chances, with its outstanding programs, to help in undoing the many prejudices and stereotypes learned at an early age. If everyone practiced what the NCCJSTL mission espouses, the world and especially St. Louis would certainly be a better place to live for all.
