Sharon Harvey Davis

Sharon Harvey Davis is the Manager of Diversity for Ameren Services. She is the first Diversity Manager for Ameren and is responsible for diversity training, community partnerships, work/life initiatives, diversity recruitment, diversity communications and the Corporate Diversity Council. Sharon joined Ameren in September 2002. Ameren’s diversity programs have received several awards including the Workplace Diversity Award in 2004 give by A World of Difference and the 2005 Corporate Diversity Award given by the American Newspaper, RCGA and St. Louis Urban League.

Since Sharon joined Ameren, two corporate wide diversity training programs have taken place, a corporate Diversity Council has been formed, and a diversity communication effort that includes a website, quarterly corporate wide diversity discussions, a bi-monthly diversity newsletter, posters and a weekly diversity email to all employees has been initiated. In addition, a community outreach program with schools, colleges and organizations within the Ameren territory to promote a more diverse workforce has been developed. Sharon’s proudest and most meaningful accomplishment has been Ameren’s First Annual Diversity Day Celebration on October 15, 2004 during which more than 8,000 employees spent the day celebrating the diversity of cultures found within Ameren. Diversity Day has grown into a week long celebration at Ameren.

Prior to Ameren, Sharon served as Vice President, Corporate Affairs for HBE Corporation. She was responsible for all diversity and community outreach initiatives minority public relations and advertising and the minority vendor program. Also, Sharon was one of two corporate spokespersons for HBE and its subsidiary Adam’s Mark Hotels & Resorts. Sharon joined HBE after a career in sales with American Express. Prior to American Express, Sharon’s career in Human Resources management included Inroads, Inc., Dayton Hudson Stores, McDonnell Douglas (Boeing Corporation) and A.G. Edwards & Sons.

Sharon is a native of St. Louis graduating from Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and St. Louis University with an Executive Master’s Degree in International Business. Sharon is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management.
