Racial Equality in the St. Louis Region

FOCUS ST. LOUIS:  RACIAL EQUALITY & SOCIAL JUSTICE

Focus Report 2 jpg: FOCUS St. Louis has brought the issue of racial equality to the forefront with the July 2001 release of a new citizen-based study, "Racial Equality in the St. Louis Region: A Community Call to Action." This report focuses on economics, housing and education, the most critical and comprehensive factors affecting racial equality in the St. Louis bi-state region.
The report is the result of 18 months of data collection and analysis by a FOCUS St. Louis citizen task force composed of 30 diverse members. The task force was co-chaired by Dr. Larry Davis, former E. Desmond Lee Endowed Chair of Racial and Ethnic Diversity, George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University (now Dean and Professor, School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh), and Susan Ryan, Consultant, SC Ryan Consulting.  Martin Rafanan, NCCJ Executive Director, along with other graduates of the Dismantling Racism Institute of NCCJ also served on the task force.
