Dialogue and Deliberation Links
The National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) www.thataway.org NCDD brings together people and groups who actively practice, promote and study inclusive, high quality conversations. NCDD is a vibrant network of over 700 organizations and individuals who, collectively, regularly engage and mobilize hundreds of thousands of people around today's critical issues, and NCDD's resource-rich website is a popular hub for dialogue & deliberation leaders. Formed in 2002 after our first National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation, NCDD is a U.S.-based organization with international members and affiliations, all of whom are dedicated to expanding the capacity of people with divergent views from all walks of life to engage in honest dialogue and quality deliberation. Our website offers a comprehensive assortment of tools, best practices and links related to civil society, participatory democracy, public engagement, political inclusion, restorative justice, organizational development, institutional change, and conflict resolution at all levels, and we keep in touch monthly with over 10,000 people who do this work. Through our online forums and biennial conferences, NCDD connects professional and grassroots practitioners, academic researchers, businesses, government officials, activists, artists, students and technologists drawn from an exceptionally wide range of sectors and practices. NCDD is also helping in the founding of similar organizations elsewhere, including the Canadian Conference on Dialogue and deliberation (C2D2), which is currently planning its second national conference, and the newly formed African Coalition on Dialogue and Deliberation (ACDD).
