Urban Achievement Alliance

http://www.urbanachievement.org The mission of the Urban Achievement Alliance (UAA) is to involve urban education stakeholders in a public discussion and information exchange, to engage teachers and administrators in reflective practice around common urban education problems in order to document and promote innovative and effective educational practices, and to identify barriers to effective educational practice in the City of St. Louis.

Policy Workgroups: Under UAA, an interdisciplinary policy workgroup has been formed that includes academics, educators, business leaders, political leaders and community interests. The mission of the workgroup is to identify the factors that impact urban education in St. Louis, identify policy issues that influence them, and prioritize these issues for further study and/or recommendations for action in expert workgroups.

Policy Summit: Once key issues have been identified, the UAA workgroups will convene a broad group of stakeholders and political leaders to make a report to the community and to engage in a constructive dialogue about what steps can be taken on the targeted areas.
